And wow ! We are now in the modern world. Today most BMW adverts must contain at least one person of colour. Gone is the thrusting male, and in is the outdoorsy ethnic type who is in touch with their their self. Running up and down hills, often including a dog somewhere in the mix is also deemed essential to connect with their new marketing targets. Of course sporty half cast woman is a given. The old outlook of aspiration is dead. I guess the brand is still inspirational to a new breed of owner though, but that owner does not see BMW as a measurement of their economic success ? Change is constantly happening, but when we compare the old with the new it just becomes hilarious.
I'm going to be visiting Portland soon and I noticed that all of the really old buildings now have graffitti painted on them portraying black people. Even in their Chinatown you see "Black Lives Matter" spray painted, when it's supposed to be Chinatown. It's getting pretty annoying and while I don't worship any one race, I do not believe that my life or your life is any lesser than that of a black person.
ReplyDeleteTell us what its like. Should be interesting...
DeleteThe last time I was in Portland was before all the riots, etc. so I'm curious as to the state of it. I saw some videos of how it looks now, which explains why I mentioned the spray painted graffiti, etc.
ReplyDeleteThose liberal riots were tolerated for a long while then ?
