Sea Cave Alter ?

Well i finally did it after failing 18 months ago. Last time i attempted this 3 mile coastal walk from Tintagel to Boscastle i didnt get above half a mile before i couldnt climb the cliff steps. I just stood and looked at them. I couldnt physically climb them or even start too. Something was very wrong and a visit to the doctor eventually revealed i had a vitamin B12 shortage...Anyway feeling in much better health this year i relished completing the walk, after all i had a distinct feeling there was something  waiting there me ....

It wasnt long before i found a sea cave. It was angled so i couldnt see inside from any direction. Suddenly a large block of quartz caught my eye, next how flat and table shaped it was gave me an odd feeling. Of course next i noticed how the over hanging slate seemed angle like a roof giving shelter. Getting nearer was impossible as it was on the edge of a shear drop. Ive heard the mystic Dion Fortune used a sea cave around there for her magick. Is this an alter ? I'd say so. It is definitely man made. Its not beyond reason to think this may well be that very cave. Well i like to think so.

When finally walking past i got a distinct atomosphere of the past i used to get when i was heavily into this scene. It felt like bumping into the old me. It was a nostalgic feeling and only on passing did it fade and then a great sadness came over me for a while. It soon passed, but that feeling of past moons and malarkey stayed with me. I feel there is some essence of me here. Its odd. Instinct tells me im part of something forever now...

The Sea Priestess

Last Spring while on holiday near Glastonbury, I decided to made a particular effort to visit the coast beyond Weston-Super-Mare. This sandy dune like area is known as Brent Knoll. Dion Fortunes novel The Sea Priestess was set here, so I was very excited to finally visit the area.
Having found Glastonbury so dark and unsettling, this area with its brilliant unfiltered bright sunlight seemed to free me from a dark mood and tension I felt had been building up in me. I felt a great relief on visiting this area, and I actually regained my holiday spirit that was so lacking near The Tor. Anyway I came across a church, St Johns I think it was called from memory. In the grave yard there I found this quite disturbing tree growing. Quite why it hadn't been removed or cut down I don't know.
On a lighter note I later passed the ISIS caravan park ( as in the Egyptian goddess sense ) This made me smile as its naming must surely it be a nod towards Dion Fortune, surely ?  LOL

The Winged Bull

The Winged Bull By Dion Fortune. 0352397209So what am I reading at the moment ? Well Ive finally got round to reading some Dion Fortune again , in fact her final novel The Winged Bull . I am barely a chapter in and up crops a character who randomly picks up a book by J.C Jung about the subconscious and is amazed as on the cover is an image he has just seen as a statue the day before ( a synchronicity that I guess will be revealed later in the book ) Well it gave me a shock to as Jung has been very much on my mind , and having found a reference to him in another story I read by A . Crowley that was so revealing personally , I regard this twist as a personal synchronicity with bells on !
As I said a few weeks ago and discussed with another blogger , I thought Jung's theory's were pretty much the essence of " magic " or very near a parallel at least . As I read further into the book I feel I will be proved right....

Random Sea Priestess ?

I recently came across a historian called Suzanna Lipscomb while watching a TV program about hazards in Victorian houses . A very interesting program hosted by a rather attractive female presenter . But there was more to this woman than just curly blond hair , nice figure ect . I gradually noticed the look in her eyes at various points in the program , something very deep or dark , controlled yet free . I haven't seen anything like it before . It cant be captured on a posed photograph as its hidden , but in " real time " its there . I call her a classic " sea priestess " type . She will have left a trail of broken men no doubt !!!

So the seeds of history were sown from an early age for Suzannah. But when she won a place to study at Oxford her first plan was to go into international development

The Sea Priestess

Looking around and at my TV I see the world is full of beautiful women . Jam packed full , especially as the aesthetic angle is now deemed essential to most female TV presenters , dancers , pop stars ect . As I get older the more beautiful they seem ( taboo alert ) but that doesn't or hasn't made them unique or particularly outstanding , though god damn it they are nice to watch....
No , the woman who moves a man however is special . To develop the side of a man that's lacking mentally or any other way for the better takes some doing . Of course it can cut both ways but that's another story . I believe for some women this is their sole purpose in life . To find one is rare . To realise you've found one even rarer . Of course to view such humans as such is close to blasphemy if you really understand the point im pushing at . They do exist . They are real ( even though they themselves may not be aware of it ) pioneers in the relationship between men and women . They will not be found conforming to social convention , that's for sure as to do so would destroy them . They may also be brutal , as to be " weak " will quickly destroy what makes them so intriguing , and intrigue is certainly a key ingredient in such a woman as the book reveals . Without this a mans attention will not be held long enough for things to change .
They are also deemed to find a man at his weakest point in life  as that's the whole purpose of the system . They heal and develop ( if given enough time ) However I read they can also when done disappear instantly though some explanation is usual , even if unsatisfactory.....
Of course it all a bit blurrey and romantically 1930's looking at relationships in this way but to a person of esoteric leanings this will matter little . Dion Fortune also tells that her " Morgan Le Fay " benefits from such transactions though I doubt eternal youth is a side effect in real life ! Maybe she was hinting at mental benefits perhaps ? Any meeting of two people will result in a transaction of some kind from one to the other . Skills , ideas , outlooks ect .
Sorry but if you desire such a person in your sphere youre going to be disappointed as they only appear at a certain time or stage of your life . Don't go looking for one , you'll just find trouble . Mistakes are common place I guess , but respect to those who attack or are lucky enough to tread this path a while . There are no guarantees here and no manual other than the general pattern in a vague sense of what to expect .
People now a days are complex and touchy and very wary of each other . Im no longer sure such events are possible unless they are a conventional sexual relationship , but there again that would end up destroyed in the end too . I only suggest this as an example of the kind of level of intimacy that would be needed for a long term interaction of the depth in time that would be necessary to get any meaningful " work " done or benefits made concrete . Loss of nerve or confidence could rear its head too . By the very nature of the man who is taking part the whole thing could collapse . He is likely not the most robust of people . The woman will also be an outsider to society too by her very nature , and the path that led to who she is . Such a meeting of two highly strung individual is risky . A measure of alchemy is certain though . As I said to tread on such a path a while is a privilege .
In the book the male character looks back at the event and is hesitant as to whether everything was as he remembered it . Too him at the time , it was in a mind blowing  way  , lucid . Perception is everything however . Without it this whole merry dance is doomed . Of course the whole thing is doomed , but what isn't in the end eh ?

The Sea Priestess

Ive been doing mental gymnastics these past four years but today im finding a new piece of mind . Ive been on a road and today is the day I realise however ridiculous it may seem its the RIGHT road as many signs and synchronicitys have confirmed this for years . Call it faith , call it fate , call it what you will but some rocky roads are pointed out and are esoterically confirmed . Some people unlock the kingdom inside you  and open doors to the unseen side of our perception . Ive seen too much to deny this . Re-fuel and continue.....    Ive enough material to write a book but you wont find it published till im long gone unfortunately such are our narrow minded times , The world is full of small men who measure things......
The journey has been organic , soul destroying and at  times mind blowingly sublime and unrelenting and " emotional " Hate that word cos its over used .   X  it by 100 to make it mean what ive felt . Elemental contact can nearly break you , but I guess that's the point . Kill our cure surely ? Yes im starting that book already ....LOL    Rapture is a good analogy...   At my stage of life im way past bluffing ....

Fill in the pieces....

Reading a short story based on true events by Dion Fortune i realised many key facts seemed to align to my personal experiences and family traits to such a point that i couldn't use the excuse of " coincidence " . It seemed as though all the facts about me were there in the story but applied to different circumstances . Rather like building a lego set into several different objects say a car , a plane and a boat , all these variations are possible and you will reckonize componants that are shared  in each one , as are the details of the story that match my life .
Maybe there are situations which re- occur in each generation but with varying permutations through the ages . Maybe there are only so many combinations re -working themselves . Maybe in a few generations time someone will look back at me and who knows how the my personal version of situations will have evolved ? Maybe my story will be repeated in thr future but in a different lay out or order for the next user . Well someones in for a shock !!! LOL

The Full moon

The full moon forces  a crises , so said Dion Fortune and she was so right . Situations increase in intensity however trivial to a sudden unexpected crises level . Of course this then forces us to face said problem wich  maybe healthy ....  or need attention .  Of course good things are forced as well !!! so balance will try its best to be maintained ... but tonight the forces are unbalance and chaotic .

Dion Fortuna

Dion Fortune once said that drugs could loosen the girders of the mind . The only problem was tightening them up again afterwards and this would often lead to the persons mind jangling and shaking like a cheap motor car !!!  A good analogy i would expect .
Her views on marriage are exceptional and insightful . I must admit the more i read her books the more fond of her i grow . I feel she's on my level when explaining her views and i feel a growing empathy for her even if some of her theories baffel me . How i would have loved to meet her and pick her mind .Where would she have led me ?

The moral maze

Its funny how times change . Back in Dion Fortunes day her views on the power women held in relationships was deemed very controversial , not her occult views or way out theory's . These were actually quite fashionable .Nowadays its the other way round . In fact many relationships back then would have seen you locked up today ! And some relationships today would have seen you locked up back then ! So my friends which view is right ???? An inconvenient ambiguity . A lot of morality is fashion based and on a whim of those bearing the current moral cosh which they smash with great vigour on the unfortunate individual who is currently out of line with popular thinking .....
