It was just a week or two ago that I finished reading 1984. One key observation about this dystopian age was that the world was divide into 3 continents, and each power was unconquerable as they were all evenly matched and geographically impossible to invade and even if an attempt was made to do so then the cost of human loss of life, and financial losses would be to high. So did they bother compete militarily ? Well, yes, but the outcome was never important !
War was fought between the three powers constantly, but only over specific areas in small countries with resources that were not essential. It mattered not who conquered these lands as they constantly changed hands, a bit like in a trophy in a sporting event, and like sport the whole affair was just a contrived as a distraction for their populations. This reminds me of Eastern Europe really. Its just a playground that sees a pendulum affect that is no more than a ruse to fire people up.
Its quite frightening to hear people on a phone in show this morning talking about " Russians riding around London in their Bentleys " They were triggered, and took this as though it was a personal insult to them. We shall soon be having " hate weeks " like in the novel where people publicly shout at tv screens depicting the current " enemy ". As people have being programmed to side to a ridiculous degree with any moral idea such as isolation from family due to government regulations, then its safe to say they are unbalanced mentally and will forget all common sense when they are told a situation is a " problem ". For 2 years people generally acted as a whole.
This reminds me of the cold war in the 80's. I was just a child then, but I remember Ronald Reagan always talking about the Russians.
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous. This world is ridiculous. And there they go wasting our tax money on another war.
The comparison you made with 1984 sounds accurate. I remember too adults always talking about Russians back then as being "bad people." That's odd because didn't Russians kill many Germans during WWII?
Everyone is being used as a pawn for the global psychopathic "elites" (more like the dog sh*t on the bottom of my shoe is what I would call them).
We have fought so many wars on a whim that when real danger appears we are worn out and inactive.
