Whernside Manor looking ever more gothic ?
The grim reaper ? Not quite...
This was to be a post about a photo showing a dark figure holding a scythe that appeared on a photo recently next door. Turns out the person was mistaken, and the " figure " turned out to be a branch and an old garden gate stoop. Well it happens to the best of us...lol What was unusual was that there was indeed a old scythe, but how it got there is another story. Probably one of the gardeners left it, but it hasnt been used in years by the look of it, and it has been stored inside because the handle is not rotten.
A handy man starting work turned off a stop tap which promptly blew a hole in a water pipe yesterday, hence we have limited water to the farm buildings today. The whole water plumbing system is rotten and as soon as any sort of work is done the pipes disintegrate. Everything will need renewing. As the workman said " I dont think the owners know exactly what they have ahead of them "
At first I thought that was a grave. Very strange indeed to leave a scythe laying there like that. Do people still use those?
ReplyDeleteThe film crew made a fake grave yard on the lawn nearby last year. That was seriously weird. No one uses any tool like that anymore. Maybe the house clearance people dug it out the other day, but why its across the garden I dont know.
