No comment...lol  This is an old card I bought years ago. Not sure who if anyone I ever intended to send it to. Its grim and very funny in an over the top way. Ive never seen one anywhere like it since, not even as a meme online.

I have have been cleaning out a spare room this week and have found some amusing things. I shall post them over the weekend. Strangely there is an " early retirement " scheme for farmers at the moment although this is dated 2007.

Unfortunate name...lol

At last a war we havent an appetite for ?

It was just a week or two ago that I finished reading 1984. One key observation about this dystopian age was that the world was divide into 3 continents, and each power was unconquerable as they were all evenly matched and geographically impossible to invade and even if an attempt was made to do so then the cost of human loss of life, and financial losses would be to high. So did they bother compete militarily ? Well, yes, but the outcome was never important !

War was fought between the three powers constantly, but only over specific areas in small countries with resources that were not essential. It mattered not who conquered these lands as they constantly changed hands, a bit like in a trophy in a sporting event, and like sport the whole affair was just a contrived as a distraction for their populations. This reminds me of Eastern Europe really. Its just a playground that sees a pendulum  affect that is no more than a ruse to fire people up.

Its quite frightening to hear people on a phone in show this morning talking about " Russians riding around London in their Bentleys " They were triggered, and took this as though it was a personal insult to them. We shall soon be having " hate weeks " like in the novel where people publicly shout at tv screens depicting the current " enemy ". As people have being programmed to side to a ridiculous degree with any moral idea such as isolation from family due to government regulations, then its safe to say they are unbalanced mentally and will forget all common sense when they are told a situation is a " problem ". For 2 years people generally acted as a whole.

Mistaken Identities in American Psycho

Mistaken identities are a big thing it seems in the movie, just as in real life. Mistakes and assumptions are constant as we often are at odds with each others perceptions. I remember reading something that Crowley wrote that it was rare for two people conversing to be totally and both 100% clear about the others intentions or view points. Usually one is at some form of a misunderstanding.

Its a kind of add comedy this film. No, I would go so far as using the word comedy. Its a quirky oddity and its growing on me.

Morning Routine - American Psycho (1/12) Movie CLIP (2000) HD

The ultimate narcissist ?  This is a very strange film. In fact by the end you are not sure whether all the murder and mayhem is just a figment of his imagination. There is a lot of dark humour and quirky scenes, that are both observations and odd humour with a twist of surreal uneasiness. The film sqirms around not liking to be type cast as anything particular. Humiliation of others is a theme that excites the monster played by Christian Bale, but is he actually a monster or just an extremely annoying, insecure sociopath ? Having read another bloggers observations on these narcissistic  types, I see so many of the traits she writes about here in this film. Interesting.

A grand ride out...lol

The sun came out last evening and I headed east to some decent roads for a drive through the Yorkshire dales. There was a real sense of spring in the air. It was stunningly beautiful. As it was a week day and around dusk there were no police speed traps. This is a well know area for bikers to ride fast and race. Thats the Ribblehead viaduct built by navvies in the 1800's. Fast drives in my older car mentally refresh me and I return home much happier. I even went in lockdown. I find it hard now to stop in at night which I guess is a side effect of being told I must in the past.

Actually quite alarming.

" He's just like a dog or a cart horse Ellen, is he not ? He eats, works and sleeps eternally. What a blank dreary mind he must have. Tell me Hareton , do you ever dream, and if you do, what do you dream of ?

Its true that in this valley people seem to exist this way. Maybe people everywhere live this way ? I feel in a rut at the moment and Im not sure if I want to get out of it. Its funny as we get older how the very idea of change eludes us because we have gone so far on the old road weve traveled. The irony here is that we do get out of ruts but we cant choose when. Its something that has to occur naturally and I think is quite impossible to manufacture yourself, especially if you dont know what you want !

Today at dinner time I was alone in the kitchen when a sudden noise made me jump. I sounded like a loud sharp flap as though something had dropped from the table. At first I thought it was a handbag. I caught some movement from the corner of my eye, but nothing was on the floor. My coat was hung on the back of a chair and maybe that had be shaken to produce the flap. Either way it rattled me as it happened in the corner of the kitchen where I often get a cold back, even on a hot summers day. Why would something so random and meaningless happen like that ? Im use to things moving on there own here, but something about this got to me today.
