A weekend of terrible weather. Pouring rain, only 11 degrees which is the coldest ive known during the day time in June, never mind July. Oh, and a north wind occasionally howls around the window frames. It rains most days now, and to think I predicted drought. Meanwhile Europe bakes in record temperatures.
Is this normal weather for your summer? It sounds very odd.
ReplyDeleteIt can be like this. August can feel autumnal. I suppose its better than a heat wave and a drought.
DeleteInteresting. Our autumns usually start off hot in late August (I guess late August is part of Autumn?), and then it will suddenly get chilly. Yes, I agree it's better than a heat wave, definitely. I am also sure that the heat is really hard on your animals, they probably don't like it with all the wool. Yikes.
DeleteDo sheep get really hot when it's very warm or hot outside? I've always wondered how they deal with that. Or do they get clippped at certain times? With my horses, or horses I've ridden before, they would sometimes clip them.
DeleteThey tend to shelter from the sun when its hottest at midday. Still the relief of being sheared must be huge. Saying that the weather can turn like this year and 12 degrees and rain can cause pneumonia if they have no wool. July is the main shearing month.
