Here is the latest ridiculous over the top crash in Dent. I found this car at the low side of a bridge tethered to a tree with a thick rope. You could say it moored. The car had failed to take a 90 degree bend over the bridge and had driven straight on over a blind hill end and straight through the railings into the river. There were no skid marks. It then floated under the bridge and came to rest at the shallow tail end of the pool.
The two girls who were tourists were very lucky the car landed the right way up in the water, and lucky that the river was not in a big flood at the time. It was at this precise place that a woman who was visiting was swept away to her death trying to drive through this flooded road a few years ago.
Dent is a dangerous valley. You have to treat it with respect and common sense. I can think of 5 visitors that came to this valley and died one way or another.
