One of the themes of the song is "mutual self-destruction." Interesting how that relates to Mary Shelley and how Victor and his monster try to destroy one another in the end. I'm in a "Gothic mode" right now so I'm noticing such parallels here. Of course, there are multiple meanings in the song, many different theories about it.
Balloons mistaken as military threats seems up to date. Im 3/4 through reading Dracula and it hasnt the magic of Frankenstein somehow. Its still good but lacks soul.
