A swing to the right

 So I came home to find my Sister was visiting for a few days. On chatting to her the subject of immigration came up and I was surprised to hear her views have now swung to the right. Its funny how suddenly losing her financial security has brought this about. I told her she used to be a " champagne socialist ". She saw the funny side for once.

I also called in at the hotel I was told now housed immigrants ect. I saw no sign of anything.

You are not a true Scot unless you have several rusty knackered Audis or Volkswagons outside your house. It seems a badge of honor and there is no shame in it. In England it would be classed as an eye sore, but here its quite normal.

Im tired. My favorite fishing rod has snapped in the car door. Its time to head home.

We are over policed. Look how many turn up to a small incident, and still they cannot do anything. This is why nobody respects the police, or likes them any more in the UK.

In a funny mood

 Feeling edgy. The weather is fine and sunny but there is an ever so slight tinge of Autumn in the air. Its time to go on holiday this weekend, and the lamb sales will be soon. That marks the accumulation of a years work. Im getting jobs done that need finishing or I would like to get done and dusted before I leave for a week.

Ive also heard today that a prestigious hotel about 30 miles away now has a security fence around it and houses illegal immigrants. I have no reason to not believe what this person told me however ridiculous this sounds. Its no good looking online for details as the government does not publish any details of course. I do however pass nearby said hotel on my drive to Scotland so I will check it out.

Lost and found

 About a month ago I lost the quad bike keys. This is not unusual and they always turn up a week later. Despite a week passing and checking everywhere for them they did not turn up. Well they did turn up but not in this valley but the neighboring valley of Garsdale. I must have left them on my car roof and they only fell off after 10 miles ? Even more unbelievably someone found them and posted a photo on a fb community page where my wife recognized them.

Last weekend I managed to lose my phone while cooking some dinner beside a canal, so I decided to post this on another community page and yes, someone had found it and posted it back to me. Losing things is becoming common for me now. I cant keep my concentration on minor things whilst doing something I enjoy. 

So here is to the power of community pages then. They are great for when you need help, but not so good to argue on...lol Ive learnt that lesson. People are narrow minded, sentimental, ignorant and deluded, especially people who have moved here. Debate is not common now online locally. Just smile and pretend all is thriving in our " beautiful valley ". Of course people have financially invested in this image and panic if you suggest things maybe  otherwise. 

Houses and relationships...grrrrr !

 Its strange how people buy the house they live in so its provides them with security against becoming homeless, but they never ever consider what position they will be in if their partner leaves them or vice versa. The whole financial house of cards is built on a relationship. What else could be such an unstable foundation for a secure future. Its ridiculous.

Most modern relationships are not stable enough to take out a life time mortgage on. I guess the bank can not assess a marriage or any other relationship for future trouble...lol Imagine that. Just a few personal  questions if you please. I suppose the couple would have to be questioned separately and their answers compared. Imagine the awkwardness of failing such a test ? We had a game show in the UK in the 80's based on this premise, it was called " Mr & Mrs " Today that would be seen as prejudiced and unacceptable. No, I dont want to think about what it might be called nowadays. Come to think of it what questions should they ask ? 

Today the for sale sign has gone up in the field that my sister wants to sell. Tonight that whole valley will be surmising about it, wondering and coming up with wild theories. If anyone asks I will just tell them the truth.

And now moving smoothly on to my Dads house foundations... The insurance Ombudsman after false starts and delays has reached a final verdict. The insurance company does not have to pay up to repair the subsidence problem. Its all been bullshit from day one. Why do we have insurance then ?

 Tonight I saw the man who makes his fake YT videos just down the road from me. He lost a few items that fell off his trailer as he set off in his truck. I came across him turning around coming back for them. I stopped to get out of my car to tell him he'd lost a few items. He had a very open and innocent face. He seemed almost baby faced, and spoke very gently. His eyes were " windows into his soul " as they say. I saw no trace of the man in his videos with his coarse accent and gravelly voice.
